Gateway Science Academy Middle School is very pleased to announce its Teacher of the Year for the 2020-2021 school year. Teaching this past year has come with many demands and new learning for educators, and GSA MS teachers have stepped up to meet the challenge. Several staff, students, and parents submitted well-deserving nominations for this honor. The three finalists for Teacher of the Year were Ms. Austin, Mr. Manian, and Mr. Martin. After a committee review of nominations, our Runner Up is Ms. Austin and our GSA Middle School Teacher of the Year 2020-2021 is Mr. Todd Martin, 8th Grade Science Teacher. Mr. Martin was recognized for many fine qualities such as being understanding and finding ways to make lessons fun and understanding. Students find Mr. Martin to be fair and caring and just a nice guy. In addition, parents recognize Mr. Martin for always making himself available to provide additional help and support and keeping communication open between home and school. He is a strong collaborator with his team and works hard to develop meaningful lessons and to grow his techniques. We are proud to have Mr. Martin represent GSA Middle School as Teacher of the Year. Both Mr. Martin and Ms. Austin have been forwarded for the Concept Schools Teachers of the Year program. They are outstanding ambassadors for GSA and we wish them all the best!
